It has been helpful for students to practice these concepts as they relate to their own life. Many students were able to practice demonstrating their knowledge of before and after when talking about their Spring Break plans. We have also done many before and after activities relating to a student's daily schedule (ex: What do you have before lunch?, What comes after math?)
Recently, some of the older students have been shown that there are many different ways to say a direction that will lead to the same outcome (ex: Touch your nose before you clap your hands AND Before you clap your hands, touch your nose). We used visuals on the white board to help us process through this idea.
